Senior Lecturer/Lecturer
Requirements:
- PhD/D Com/D Tech/ Doctoral degree in Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field. Should hold a relevant undergraduate degree in the fields mentioned above.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution, or 7 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
- At least five (5) publications in accredited, peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in postgraduate supervision will serve as an added advantage
Lecturer
- Master’s degree in Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field. Should hold a relevant undergraduate degree in the fields mentioned above.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution, or 5 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
- Experience in postgraduate supervision will serve as an added advantage
Duties
- The incumbent will teach functional areas of the Database Concepts, Programming (with good knowledge of most of the following: Python, Java, .NET, C#, C++), Internet and Web Design Technology (good knowledge of Javascript, PHP, HTML, CSS), Database Systems Management (SQL & No SQL Databases, Oracle DB), Data Mining & Warehousing, Mobile and Wireless Information Systems, Business Intelligence Systems, Enterprise Database Systems, Research Methodology and other modules in the department for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- S/he will be responsible for curriculum development and compilation of teaching portfolios, supervision of research at the postgraduate level (Honors to PhD) and publishing in accredited journals.
- Conducting community-based research and the execution of community and training projects as well as assisting in academic administration.
CHIEF ADMIN OFFICER
Requirements: A relevant Honours degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification. Five years of University / Tertiary Education Student Administration relevant experience with a high level of technical knowledge in the Student Administration field. Highly computer literate with in-depth knowledge of computer software and applicable technological systems, e.g., ITS, Oracle, Innopac etc. Working knowledge of the higher education sector shall be an added advantage.
Duties
- Supervision of records and admission sections staff
- Facilitation of the sending out, receiving, checking, recording, and forwarding of application forms to schools.
- Facilitation of recording of received and processed application forms.
- Compliance to University application rules and regulations
- Provision of application information and guidance to applicants applying for admission
- Facilitation of opening of student files for first-time entering students
- Supervision of filling of students’ documents and records into the students’ files.
- Monitoring of file movement register
- Facilitation of updating of student files
- Facilitation of issuing and receiving of student files to/from end users.
- Ensuring of safekeeping of student files and records
- Facilitation of printing of Faculty calendars and consolidated University main calendar.
- Coordinating applications for conditional/full exemption
- Facilitation of the printing of transcript of academic records.

RESEARCH PROFESSOR (Five -year performance based contract)
REQUIREMENTS:
A Doctoral degree in any Health sciences–related field. At least ten years of experience in research and teaching at a university. An outstanding research record of accredited publications with at least fifteen peer-reviewed publications as journal articles, books, or book chapters. Strong evidence of successful supervision of master’s and PhD Students with at least four (4) students supervised to graduation. NRF rating will be an added advantage.
The candidate should have a proven record or an ability to develop collaborations and partnerships with other academics locally and internationally. Ability to market the Faculty of Health Sciences and develop new linkages and partnerships with other research institutions, government, businesses, NGOs, and other stakeholders. Proven ability to generate external research funding through successful grant applications. Experience in collaborative research.
DUTIES:
- Improving research funding and infrastructure in the Faculty of Health Sciences, through coordination and submission of grant applications to NRF and other funders, both self-initiated and in response to calls
- Supervision of Masters and Doctoral candidates engaged in inter-disciplinarily /trans-disciplinary research.
- Mentoring and capacity development of postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior staff members.
- Hosting and offering research seminars and research workshops for staff and students.
- Promoting collaborative research among students and academics across departments and faculties
- Leading research teams
- Developing national and international partnerships and linkages with universities, research institutions, and community stakeholders.

Requirements
A National Diploma in Purchasing Management, Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management coupled with four years’ experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing Management, Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management coupled with three years’ experience.
Duties
- Liaison with internal customers in finalizing scopes of work and specifications of procurement requirements
- Co-ordinate supplier performance and evaluations and recommend corrective actions were required
- Preparing tender documents for advertising and distribution of interested bidders
- Evaluation of tenders and recommending to supervisor or higher authority for approval
- Ensuring that required goods and services are available as an when required, match and consolidate demand inline with approved budgets.
- Ensure compliance with supply chain management policy in carrying out the above tasks
- Ensuring value for money is attained and develop tactics and methods to optimize to avoid wastage/excesses.
- Applyinh proper approved procedures and contracting principles in engaging suppliers
Executive Dean: Humanities and Education
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Deans are expected to play a leading role in the transformation within the University and the Higher Education context in South Africa. The appointee should be able to manage and motivate all staff and students in the Faculty to fulfil the mission of the University, and to guide the Faculty in realizing its goals as defined in the University’s Strategic Plan. The Executive Dean has strategic, operational, and administrative oversight of the Faculty and is expected to steward effectively and collegially the Faculty to achieve sustainable excellence in all aspects of teaching, research, innovation, internationalisation, and community engagement
REQUIREMENTS
The Executive Dean is expected to have a doctoral degree, wide teaching experience and a scholarly research profile with expert knowledge of Higher Education issues. He/she should be an established academic leader and scholar with an excellent publication and research record and proven excellence in teaching and learning to attract respect and credibility from within the University, national and international scholars and other relevant stakeholders. The candidate should also have a track record of effective, democratic and strategic leadership. The successful candidate should have at least 10 years relevant managerial experience at Higher Education institutions. In order to lead the faculty’s research and innovation agenda, the candidate should qualify for NRF rating and be recognized as a researcher of high national/international standing
The Executive Dean will be expected to, among other things:
- Determine, articulate, implement, and lead faculty-based strategic initiatives to enhance Univen reputation and performance in accordance with its strategic plan.
- Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the Faculty’s academic programmes across academic departments and disciplines.
- Develop and deepen excellence and innovation in learning and teaching, including online/blended-learning pedagogy, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and Academic Citizenship and Leadership.
- Promote and advance excellence in research and innovation
- Implement policies and develop resources that promote and enhance the research as well as the learning and teaching capacity and capabilities of the Faculty, including raising funds in support of research and learning and teaching, and Continuous Education.
- Oversee an effective, competitive, and responsive Programme Qualification Mix, including joint programmes with international peer universities while ensuring that faculty programmes are, where necessary, fully accredited with the relevant accreditation bodies.
- Ensure the highest level of faculty governance, administration, and systems functioning, including enrolment planning, management of the student’s academic life cycle, and risk management.
- Effectively manage academic, administrative, and professional support staff, including staff recruitment, development, and retention.
- Ensure effective and efficient management of the Faculty’s finances, subsidies, and other resources.
- Promote the reputation and standing of the Faculty within the sector, and generally in broader civil society, industry, and government.
- Strengthen relationships with the public and private sectors, and in particular with professional societies/councils, departments of education, and academic partners in South Africa and internationally.
