Glencore Coal SA is recruiting and accepting applications for the following posts:

Buyer

The succesful candidate will be responsible for purchasing goods and services according to set parameters of quality and standards to support the Operations to achieve its objectives in line with the Procurement Policies and Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively sourcing the correct goods and services.
  • Liasing with business and suppliers to ensure effective service delivery to business.
  • Driving effective procurement practices in support of the delivery of goods and services.
  • Receiving, administering, and processing procurement documentation.
  • Co-ordinating the delivery times and communicate with the suppliers on issues related to quality or non-conformance.
  • Following up and actioning outstanding orders on the system.
  • Managing business and suppliers’ queries.
  • Conforming to Procurement Policies and Procedures.
  • Behaving in a safe manner and comply with relevant Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (NQF level 5) or a N3 certificate with Engineering subjects and a valid Trade certificate.
  • Driver’s License (Code EB/08).

Minimum Experience

  • 2 Years’ experience in Supply Chain and/or Finance.
  • MS Office Proficiency.
  • SAP and Coupa Experience will be advantageous.

Behaviour Competencies:

  • Ability to drill into the detail of issues to determine root cause while considering urgency, importance, risk and reward factors.

Commercial Superintendent

The succesful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing contracts for the procurement of goods and services to the various Complexes to minimise risk, drive value and control cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Ensuring effective contracts administration to minimise cost and time over runs including risk mitigation.
  • Coordinating Tender, Tender Evaluation, Clarification, Negotiation, Adjudication & Recommendation processes.
  • Supporting operational continuous improvement and business optimisation initiatives.
  • Facilitating the implementation of effective and efficient commercial practices to ensure successful procurement, repair and delivery of all contracted goods including monitoring supplier performance with KPI’s and periodical meetings.
  • Identifying data trends and market insights that will inform and improve contractor management processes.
  • Reviewing potential suppliers, coordinating site visits to evaluate supplier capabilities.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to address operational challenges.
  • Maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensuring adherence to Legislation, Policies, Procedures, Standards and Operating Procedures in areas of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial/supply chain management.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning System (SAP/COUPA) experience.
  • Commercial Principles and Standards, knowledge and experience.
  • Mining experience will be advantageous.

Data Quality Specialist

We are currently accepting applications for the following position located in the Witbank, Mpumalanga area.

The succesful candidate will be responsible for assessing, correcting, guiding and enforcing material/vendor data quality in the Enterprise Resource Planning System (SAP/COUPA) and ensuring that data is maintained at the agreed data quality standard as approved by Glencore Coal SA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Codifying and maintaining accurate material/vendor master data quality in the ERP System.
  • Analysing, reporting and advising on adherence and compliance to codification standards and rules as per data governance.
  • Assisting with optimizing codification policies and procedures in conjunction with operational units in order to optimize the pricing strategy.
  • Liaising with suppliers and business on coded data and providing coaching to business on coding practices.
  • Performing data quality assessments regularly and correcting all data quality errors with system tools.

 Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • N6 Certificate with engineering subjects and valid Trade Certificate and a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Engineering Supervisor; OR
  • Relevant degree and completion of the Graduate Development Programme; or 2 Years’ experience in data management and quality standards or at a Planned Maintenance Coordinator level.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning System (SAP/COUPA) data management experience.
  • Supply Chain Principles and International Coding Standards knowledge and experience will be advantageous.

Glencore Coal SA Work Integrate Learning Program

Applications are invited for students who need to complete work integrated learning to assist in obtaining their Business Administration qualification.

As a successful candidate, you will follow a structured program comprising of:

  • A fixed term contract for the duration of the Work Integrated Learning;
  • Exposure to the various administrative aspects within the Company in line with the requirements of the Tertiary Institution.

To be eligible for the Work Integrated Learning Program, you will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • Studying towards a National Diploma in Business Administration.
  • Outstanding academic record.
  • Preference will be given to applicants residing in the local communities where Glencore Coal Operations South Africa are located (Nkangala District of the Mpumalanga province – proof of residence to be submitted with application.
