ARTISAN: MAINTENANCE
Purpose: To support the team in achieving all product, process and system quality targets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring all electrical and mechanical equipment in his supervision are maintained and in good working condition.
- Support the production team in achieving the Production volume, by quick response to breakdowns.
- Fault finding on the integrated IT, Network, PLC control systems.
- Eliminating electrical equipment failure by means of preventative maintenance.
- Monitor and control the execution of all maintenance work performed by the artisans to ensure the timeous completion of the work to the required standard.
Requirements
- N4 Electrical or Mechanical.
- Completed Trade test Millwright, Electrician or Fitter and Turner.
- Minimum 3 years related experience in electrical and or mechanical maintenance in an automated production environment.
- Assembly plant experience will we an added advantage.
LAUNCH TRAINER
Responsible towards the function Tx-45 the area of Launch and special vehicles Assembly within the agreed objectives (quality, cost, quantity, on-time delivery). Responsible towards the function Tx-45 for the required operations and for operating equipment. Responsible towards the function Tx-45 for the F2 responsibility for the Launch and special vehicles Assembly.
Responsible towards the function Tx-45 for all activities regarding Launch and special vehicle projects from F0 to F2 including reaching the project targets, and implements measures for ensuring the production targets based on the escalation principles.
Responsible towards Tx-45 and the product line (Lx) for the technical integration of the car derivatives run-ups (x) by further advancing the targets of the production concept and the product design in the plant network.
Ensures an uninterrupted production of launch and series special vehicles (Authority vehicles) in adherence with all relevant Key Performance Indicators (quality, cost, quantity, on-time delivery).
Ensures the continuous improvement of the relevant process KPIs based on WPS.
Coordinates and stipulates the relevant KPIs in terms of quality, cost, quantity, on-time delivery, and employee orientation in regards to the Target Management Process (ZMP), together with the next higher function level, while taking into account the overall objectives of the Group, the factory and the technology assembly.
Act as a production partner for quality fulfilment and on-time delivery for the next production partner. Plans and manages all activities from F0 to F2 in pre-series and series vehicle production and vehicle launch.
Supports the build of the vehicles during the construction phases of vehicle projects. Ensures coherent production concepts, products, and their integration within the production of the derivative.
Ensures the appropriate measures for vehicle projects in order to achieve all project objectives. Ensures time and risk management to achieve all project objectives. Ensures the increase of production run-up maturity through feedback from OtD.
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Engineering or N6 equivalent.
- Trade Test.
- 3 years practical Rework experience on automotive vehicles.
- Production experience.
- Quality management experience.
- Knowledge of BMW systems, processes and requirements.
- Project leadership skills.
MACHINE OPERATOR
Key Responsibilities
Quality:
- Identifies production and quality problems.
- Evaluates and realizes measures to improve production and quality with his superior according to specifications and considering volume and cost implications
- Member of quality projects and quality related task teams as required from all internal departments and levels (including superior)
- Stand-in for the Artisan when required.
- Compliance with ISO and SHE requirements
- Support the team in achieving the Production volume, by quick response to breakdowns.
- Eliminating equipment failures by commissioning equipment prior to start-up.
- Fault finding on the integrated SCADA AND HMI control systems
Productivity:
- Collects, documents and analyses data required for problem-solving.
- Always monitors and controls machine operation to the highest level.
- Maintenance of production line equipment as required to ensure production stability.
- Resolves problems at own level with appropriate escalation of unresolved or higher-level problems, including.
- Implements planned corrective actions
- Monitoring problems after resolution to ensure that no recurrence takes place.
- Ensuring accurate documentation of all production and quality problems
- Feedback to superior and responsible staff
- Ensures all displays are updated and relevant.
- Attends/supports/takes relevant measures on all internal audits.
- Effectively controls and adhere to process to eliminate scrap.
- Participates in CIP working groups and ensure they run effectively.
- Participates in partnership agreements with all process partners.
- Supports production with the use of quality systems in order to meet ISO requirements.
- Ensures standards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment are met.
- Eliminating electrical equipment failure by means of preventative maintenance.
- Familiarizing himself with the plant and equipment to ensure that first-hand information is always available.
- Optimize and improve equipment and systems to optimize product quality plant availability and reliability.
- Cleaning of all Durr-Robotic equipment and ISRA Cameras during Production and weekend activities
- To inform his supervisor of all equipment breakdowns
- Provide training to operators/ trainees on Safety and use of equipment.
- AOI marking cell observation.
Environment:
- Assist management in achieving the Environmental (ISO 14001) targets and conform to all local legislative.
- To ensure that all work is performed competently and in accordance with BMW specifications, the OHS Act no 85 of 1993 and OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001and ISO 14001. To ensure that all equipment and work areas are always safe to prevent accidents or injury to personnel. Ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance with safety regulations.
Decision responsibility related to:
- The execution of effective preventative maintenance on equipment.
- The introduction of equipment in as far as compatibility is concerned.
- Enhance of safety standards.
- Resolution of technical problems.
Description of Auxiliary Activities:
- List the activities that are required by the Incumbent but are not necessarily part of the job requirements.
- Supplementary tasks/projects as allocated by Process Leader
- Adhere to start up Procedures for the different areas.
Qualifications
- Minimum N3 Certificate (Technical) and Trade test.
- Qualified Trade (Electrical, Mechanical or Millwright)
- Fluent verbal/written in English
- Three years’ experience in an Automotive Painted Body Production Plant
- Painted Body Technology Experience as an added advantage
