University of Pretoria: Administrative Assistant
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Administrative assistant services within the TuksSport Client Service unit.
- Mail and package deliveries, storeroom and inventory management.
- Sort, deliver and pick up mail from various offices on the premises at regular intervals.
- Pack material received for dispatch; as well as labelling, inserting material in envelopes for delivery to internal and/or external stakeholders.
- Assist with Cashier duties and perform the following:
- Receiving of funds and forms.
- Issuing of receipts and balancing of daily income.
- Cashier duties
- Petty cash management
- Front desk reception duties including providing clients with TuksSport information, petty cash management and cashier duties
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12;
- At least two years’ experience as a messenger or office administrator.
- Driver’s license (minimum Code 8)
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Basic knowledge of inventory control;
- Proficient knowledge of office administration;
- Good communication skills (verbal and written);
- Computer literacy in MS Office packages and emails;

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Certificate in Office Administration
- One year of Cashier or Client Service experience

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
