uMkhonto weSizwe Party has officially announced the online registration system for South African citizens who wants to join the MK Party.

The former President Jacob Zuma held a media briefing on the 16th of December 2023 and has introduced uMkhonto Wesizwe as a new political party to compete with South African political groups including ANC.

uMkhonto we Sizwe (Xhosa, Zulu and Ndebele meaning “Spear of the Nation”; abbreviated MK) was the paramilitary wing of the African National Congress (ANC), and was founded by Nelson Mandela in the wake of the Sharpeville massacre according to Wikipedia. Its mission was to fight against the apartheid in the country.

President Jacob Zuma, who became an active member of uMkhonto Wesizwe in 1962, is now the leader of this recently established MK party.

Here are the steps to join the uMkhonto Wesizwe as a member:

  1. Go to https://mkparty.org.za/
  2. Enter a username and password, along with other required details.
  3. Provide contact information and address.
  4. Make a payment of R10 or more to the account details stated on the website.
  5. Upload a proof of payment (POP).
  6. Agree to the terms of service provided by the party on the form.
  7. Click on ”Register”
