Thousands of South Africans discovered that their SRD grant applications had failed when they went through their Social Relief (SRD) Sassa status check. Based on their current employment status, they should qualify to receive the grant.
In situations like these, Sassa gave beneficiaries a second chance to apply lodge an appeal by submitting a Social relief of distress appeal. At this point, Here is when SRD grant appeals for June 2023 may close.
Here’s how to Submit June 2023 SRD grant appeals
- Visit srd.dsd.gov.za website.
- Scroll down and select ‘click here to lodge an appeal or check appeal status’.
- Enter your ID Number and cellphone number.
- Click ‘send pin, submit and select the month your wanna submit an appeal for’.
- Click ‘Submit ‘and patiently wait for the result of the appeal.
No deadline has been set for filing appeals for SRD grant. Instead, Sassa clarified that appeals must be made within 90 days of receiving a rejection.
However, it is recommended that you file an appeal within 30 days of rejection.
The ITSAA will issue a decision within 60-90 days of filing an appeal.
The ITSAA’s decision is final. However, if you are not satisfied with the decision, you can go to the High Court for judicial review. This you must do within 180 days.
Failure to request appeal for each month that the application is declined will result in the original decision sustained.
