Every month, more than 16 million South Africans receive various types of social grants from the South African government. These welfare benefits are paid by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) to people without the financial means to support themselves.
Sassa Payment Dates For the Year 2024
SASSA in partnership with the Department of Social Development have released the payment dates for the year 2024.
April 2024 SASSA Grant Payment Data
Payments for the month of April will be made within the first week of the month, payment schedule is from April 3rd to April 5th, 2024.
May 2024 SASSA Grant Payment Data
According to latest announcements, payment dates are expected from May 5, 2024 to May 7, 2024.
June 2024 SASSA Grant Payment Data
Payment details will be as follow for the month of June:
- Older Persons Grants: Monday, 3 June 2024.
- Disability Grants: Tuesday, 4 June 2024.
- Children’s Grants: Wednesday, 5 June 2024.
SASSA Grant Payment Data for July 2024
Payment dates are between July 1st and July 6th, 2024.
- Older Persons Grants: Tuesday, 2 July 2024.
- Disability Grants: Wednesday, 3 July 2024.

SASSA Grant Payment Data for October 2024

November 2024 SASSA Grant Payment Data

ATM payment method with SASSA Gold Card
Pick-up points including Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer and USAve stores

Sassa Gold Card
The SASSA Gold Card works just like a regular bank card. You can withdraw money from ATMs and use your card at checkout. The scholar will be required to create a PIN for her on the Gold Card so that the funds will not be withdrawn if the card is lost or stolen.
