The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render financial support services within the department.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)
Key Performance Areas
- Render Financial Accounting transactions: Receive invoices
- Check invoices for correctness verification and approval (internal control)
- Process invoices (e.g. capture payments)
- Filing of all documents
- Collection of cash
- Perform Salary Administration support services: Receive salary advices
- Process advices (e.g. check advices for correctness capture salaries bonuses salary adjustments capture all deductions etc.)
- File all documents
- Perform Bookkeeping support services: Capture all financial transactions
- Clear suspense accounts
- Record debtors and creditors
- Process electronic banking transactions
- Compile journals
- Render a budget support service: Collect information from budget holders
- Compare expenditure against budget Identify variances
- Capture allocate virements on budgets
- Distribute documents with regard to the budget
- File all documents
- Receive and capture cash payments.
Benefits
Successful applicants will receive R 202 233 per annum (Salary level 5) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.
MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
