South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) have announced Payment dates for May 2024. If you rely on social grants, it’s important for you to know when to expect your grant.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) distributes social grants to more than 18 million people every month. The amount of money received by beneficiaries of permanent grants increased in April and will remain in place during May.
SASSA Payment dates for May 2024
As a beneficiary you can now view the payment status and the payment date for each of the Sassa grants on the official Sassa website by adding your ID number. The payment schedule will show the exact dates for the grant payment from May 2024 onwards.
- Older Persons Grant – 3 May 2024
- Disability Grants – 6 May 2024
- Children’s Grants – 7 May 2024
The R350 grant disbursement for May 2024 will also be paid. Recipients can now expect the grant approvals in the last week of each month.
Sassa grants are paid at the Post Office on these dates. Alternatively, grant beneficiaries can collect their money at several retail stores including Pick N Pay, Boxer, Usave, Shoprite and Checkers.
Beneficiaries can also choose to have the grant paid directly to their bank account. This is an attractive option for many beneficiaries as it allows them to access their funds at any time.
