Sassa has Confirmed Payment Dates For January 2024. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) would like to assure social grants beneficiaries that the dates of January payment cycle is expected to be as smooth as it can. In this article, you will find all the details about the January 2024 grants payment schedule including the Social relief of Distress also known as R350 grant.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has become a source of income for many disadvantaged citizens living below the poverty line.

There are number of grants that can be applied for, that is: disability grant, grant for older persons and war veteran’s grant, foster child grant; care dependency grant, child support grant child support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-Aid.

Sassa has Confirmed Payment Dates For January 2024

Sassa grant payments are released on the first week of every month. The January 2024 payment cycle is as follows:

  • Older Persons Grant – Wednesday 3 January 2024.
  • Disability Grant – Thursday 4 January 2024.
  • Children’s Grants – Friday 5 January 2024.

In the recent announcements, SRD grants will be paid from 25 January. The final SRD grant payments for Janaury will be processed on the 31 January 2024 by Sassa.

Beneficiaries of Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) are encouraged to complete a Sassa status check during payment week. This allows recipients to see the exact day that the money will reflect in their bank account.

All Sassa Beneficiaries have a right to choose a payment method of their choice.

Beneficiaries can choose any of the following payment methods to collect their grant:

  • Stores: Beneficiaries can access their R350 grant from any Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, or USave merchant.
  • Cash Send Option: This is for people who do not have a bank account in their name.
  • Bank Account: This is by far the safest and recommended because you can withdraw from any ATM.

The Beneficiaries of Sassa must ensure to take note of the above January payment dates so that they know when to collect their grants.
