NSFAS applications for Trimester 2 funding

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is a South African government student financial aid scheme which provides financial aid to undergraduate students to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education after finishing high school.

  • Open Period: Now open until 31 May.
  • Eligibility: Only TVET College students can apply.

How to apply

Method:

  • Apply through the myNSFAS portal on the NSFAS website.

Requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Registered or intending to register for a PLP, NC(V), or Report 191 programme.
  • Demonstrate financial need (as determined by NSFAS).
  • Returning students must meet academic performance criteria.
  • Comply with the N+Rule.
  • Should not be enrolling for a qualification that duplicates state-funded previous learning.
  • Combined gross family income must be up to R350,000 per annum.
