How to Update Your SASSA Bank Details for the R350 Grant. If you are a recipient of South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) grants and your SASSA Online Application shows pending banking details, this article will walk you through the process of changing your banking details for grants such as child support, foster children, old age, disability, care dependency, war veteran, grant in aid, or the Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. It is very important to maintain your banking information up to date in order to ensure that your payments are received smoothly and on schedule.

To update your SASSA banking information, go to the SASSA SRD web interface, which can be located at srd.sassa.gov.za. This is the official website for handling your grant information.

You must choose a category onceyou are in the SASSA SRD web portal. Depending on your status, you can select “South African ID Holder” or “Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders.”

Locate the option labeled “How do I change my banking details.” To proceed, select this option.

You must enter your South African ID number in the supplied field. This data is required for identification verification.

After entering your ID number, you will receive an SMS with a 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) on the cellphone number you used to apply for the grant. Enter your OTP as it is and then click the “Verify Pin” option.

You will receive another SMS containing a secure link after successfully verifying your OTP. Continue with the process by clicking on that secure link.

How to Update Your SASSA Bank Details for the R350 Grant

To update your bank information, follow the instructions on the secure link. The procedure may differ based on whether or not you have a Personal Bank account.

For those who has Bank Accounts:

  • Select your bank name
  • Enter your account number
  • Enter the branch code
  • Select your account type
  • Accept the terms of use
  • Finally provide your updated bank details

For those without Bank Accounts:

Select the Cash Send payment option, using this option you can collect money at stores such as Pick n Pay, Boxer, Shoprite, Checkers or Usave. When done you can now accept the terms of use and submit.

SASSA will validate your new payment method after you submit your new bank information. Future grant payments will be issued to the updated account once it has been validated.
