Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Head Office in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Recruitment Learner to join the team. The Learner will be Responsible for the first stage/step in the recruitment process to source and engage with qualified suitable candidates for a job role using various methods of sourcing.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- HR Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management
- Minimum 0 – 1 year human resources/ administration experience
- Computer Skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Job Specification
- Place adverts on job portals/ careers sites and social media and track progress.
- Proactively search for qualified job candidates for current open positions through various channels including digital platforms.
- Actively source and screen candidates in line with the standard operating procedure for the relevant category or department.
- Interact with potential candidates to establish the correct fit for the required role and map to talent pipelines.
- Compose and send recruitment correspondence including emails and interact with potential candidates on professional networks and social media.
- Conduct thorough background checks, MIE checks for each candidate and escalate discrepancies to team leader and flag to the relevant internal recruiter.
- Ensure the sourcing checklist and the relevant process is followed. And ensure alignment and delivery with the team.
- Accurately update all activity in the sourcing database and talent pools and ensure accuracy.
- Partner with internal recruiters and HR to understand the role requirements and candidate profiles for key positions.
- Log referred candidates’ information in Applicant Tracking System and link to the relevant vacancies.
- Assist with scheduling candidate interviews with internal recruiters.
- Maintain and update talent pool for current and future hiring prospects and the company’s candidate database.
- Provide feedback to candidates on their application status.
- Answer recruitment calls, respond to queries and escalate recruitment matters accordingly.
- Assist with recruitment administration when necessary.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

- Basic knowledge of the recruitment processes and sourcing practices
- Be able to process instructions, resolve and escalate queries accordingly.

- Demonstrates accuracy by being thorough and checking details; produces high quality work by being detailed.

- Able to meet deadlines; is punctual and keeps to schedule; is reliable in finishing tasks.

- English – Read, write and speak well
