DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE (DPWI) YOUTH RECRUITMENT DRIVE

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is inviting unemployed people to register on a database for different departmental programmes. The objectives of these programmes is to provide training to young people in different skills in order to acquire the experience needed to be employable.

The opportunity is targeting people of the Eastern Cape, youth, women and people with disabilities. Successful applicants will be placed into the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure district depots.

PROGRAMME 1: ACCELERATED PROFESSIONAL AND TRADE COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (APTCoD)
TARGET GROUP: 18 – 45 years
STIPEND: R 3300.00 per month
DURATION: 4 years

• Proof of residence
• Ex NYS learners with minimum of 50% on RPL
• Ex EPWP Maintenance Programme participants with minimum of 50% on
  RPL
• A person with a built environment experience with a minimum of 50% on RPL

PROGRAMME 2: NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE
STIPEND: R 2 800.00 per month
DURATION: 18 months
TARGET GROUP: 18 – 35 years

• Certified copy of Grade 12 or Standard 10 certificate.

PROGRAMME 3: ASSISTANT MENTORS
STIPEND: R 6000.00 per month
DURATION: 3 years
TARGET GROUP: EX-APTCoD ARTISANS
