Learners who register will sit for their Matric Rewrite Exams in May/June or October/November 2023. Senior Certificate Candidates can register for a Matric Rewrite to write their exams in June 2023.
2023 Matric Exam Rewrites Schedule
Learners who pass the May/June 2023 exams will be awarded either NSC or SC. These certificates correspond to each other. However, the pass levels of matric are different.
Every year, the Department of Basic Education (DBE) gives an opportunity to individuals to improve their matric marks by registering for the May-June exams.
You can register to rewrite matric subjects if you want to improve your results.
Matric pass levels in South Africa:
- Bachelor’s Degree Pass.
- Diploma Pass.
- Higher Certificate Pass.
- Senior Certificate Pass.
Face to face classes are available at locations around the country, as well as online programmes.
The Second Chance Matric Programme of the Department of Basic Education provides support to learners who want to rewrite subjects. It helps them to meet the requirements of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Senior Certificate (SC) and obtain a Grade 12 matric certificate.
