Download and Install the Moya App:

  • Visit the app store corresponding to your phone (Google Play Store for Android, App Store for iPhone, or App Gallery for Huawei).
  • Search for “Moya App Datafree” and download the app.
  • Once downloaded, follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your phone.

Register or Log In:

  • If you’re a new user, tap “Register” and enter your cellphone number. You’ll receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS. Enter the OTP in the app, then set a name and password for your account.
  • If you’ve already registered, simply log in using your username and password.

Navigate to the SASSA Status Section:

  • Once logged in, tap the “Discovery” tab at the bottom of the screen.
  • Look for the “Services & Money” section and tap on it.
  • Find “SASSA Relief” and tap on it, then select “Status.” This will take you to the SASSA SRD status check page.

Enter Your Details and Submit:

  • In the designated fields, enter your South African ID number (18 digits) and the cellphone number you used during your SASSA application.
  • Double-check both entries to ensure accuracy, as mistakes may delay the process.
  • Once everything is correct, tap the “Submit” button.

View Your SASSA Status:

  • The Moya App will display your SASSA status on the screen. This might show as “Approved,” “Pending,” “Declined,” or “Payment Collected.”
  • If your status is “Approved,” you’ll also see the expected payment dates.

Moya App cannot display your SASSA balance. For that information, you’ll need to check your SASSA card, use the USSD code, or contact your bank. Now you can relax and focus on what matters most, knowing you have all the information you need right at your fingertips.
