Join WITS RHI as Data Capturer

Main purpose of the job: To accurately capture, verify and store programme data into a database.

Key performance areas

  • Collect data either electronically or manually and conduct quality assurance e.g., missing data, errors
    etc on site during service provision.
  • Identify missing data, inconsistencies and errors and follow up with the staff responsible for completing the different sections of the client file.
  • Verify client identity numbers and telephone numbers on site and during data collection.
  • Securely store client files during service provision and submit complete and accurate files to the
    designated person in the office.
  • Compile and share daily site reports on services provided using a standardised tool.
  • Receive and review other source documents from different program activities e.g., linkage tools for
    accuracy e.g., biographic section must be the same in the SRH tool and the linkage tool.
  • Capture confidential programme information on approved databases (REDCAP/Tier.net).
  • Ensure that data capturing is completed timeously, where data collection is done manually and that
    there is no backlog beyond the reporting period the reporting period.
  • Compare data entered with source documents and make necessary corrections to information
    entered in all the databases being used.
  • Export data entered into the system and conduct data quality control/diagnostics.
  • Submit and or capture client files to DoH facilities following the guidelines provided by the facility/district DoH.
  • Retrieve and prepare files for client follow-ups
  • Document and track the return of files issued for follow-up services.
  • Ensure that all staff members who are issued client files for service provision sign the files out and in when they are returned.

Required minimum education and training

  • Grade 12 with basic computer and typing skills are essential.
  • Driver’s License (Code 8 or 10)

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

  • Certification in good clinical practice and experience in programmes will be an advantage.
  • The candidate should have excellent attention to detail. Orderly and systematic with strict compliance to protocols. Good administrative skills are required together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database packages. Able to work to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated data-capturing speed and accuracy.
  • Confidentiality, tact, and discretion must always be maintained.
  • Good communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
