Bidfreight Port Operations: Learnership 2023
Bidfreight Port Operations has an exciting women development opportunity. Unemployed Female Youths are encouraged to enrol for a National Certificate: Transport focusing solely on Forklift driving and Crane operating.
The Purpose of this learnership is to provide learners with entry-level knowledge, skills and attitudes for the transport and logistics sector of the South African economy.
Learners will and be upskilled and licencing ONLY on Forklift driving and Crane operating. No Truck driver expose or experience will be provided.
BPO is inviting applications from South Africa, Unemployed female Youths between ages of 18 to 29 to join our 12 month learnership program. Preference will be given to the children of BPO employees.
As members of the Bidvest Group Ltd, BPO is one of the largest providers of In-port logistics in South Africa with operations in every commercial cargo port in South Africa.
The company’s activities include Stevedoring, Warehousing & Terminal operating services as well as Transportation.
A learnership is a work-based education and training programme that offers a learning opportunity and workplace experience and serves as an entrance into the Industry for unemployed learners, a learnership’s main purpose is to create employable people.
The learners will enter a 12 Month fixed term contract with the company, during which time they will undergo both on-the-Job practical entry level experience and classroom training, resulting In a National Qualification upon successful completion.
The learnership available is: National Certificate: Transport ISA. ID 59300) and will include upskilling and licencing in Forklift driving and Crane operating.
This is a 12-month learnership contract and it must be noted that there is NO GUARANTEE, and there must be no expectation, of permanent employment on the completion of the programme.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for learners the following subject areas:
- Matric with a 60% as an academic average
- Unemployed Female Youths between ages of 18 to 29
- Must not have enrolled for any Post-school qualification or course.
- Computer literacy
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, have a drive and initiative.
- Preference will be given to candidates that meet our Employment Equity and Skills Development targets.
