Quality Controller

Description:

Personnel Management

  • Monitor, train, guide and develop new staff according to how the systems in the department work
  • Checking and monitoring subordinates work on a regular basis
  • Schedule weekly meetings with the subordinates
  • Maintain high standard of communication across all levels and departments internally and externally in a professional manner
  • Conduct informal performance appraisals (Interim Sessions) at least twice a year
  • Conduct formal appraisal in order to determine if employees are reaching their goals/deadlines and live up to the AVBOB values
  • Conduct informal counselling and couching session with employees when needed
  • Reprimand and provide assistance to the subordinates (referrals to Careways, verbal/written/final written warnings
  • Non-performance of clerks should be brought under the attention of the Department Head/Admin Head
  • Assistance with queries and problems must be provided
  • Do return to work interviews with subordinates if they were off sick for two to more than two days

Handling of Telephonic and written queries from policy holders, life offices and internally

  • Information supplied must at all times be correct and handled in a professional manner

Financial Administration

  • Authorize payment (premiums, loans, surrenders) in accordance with AVBOB policy. 
  • Ensure that subordinates honour their payment limits. 
  • Ensure correctness of payments in terms of amount and beneficiary.
  • Print cash focus lists.

System Maintenance

  • Maintain psWorkflow
  • Check the JS program to ensure that the tasks are scheduled correctly and to address any errors
  • Supply statistics of the subordinates to the Department Head on a daily basis
  • Enhance, Identify and address system errors and improvements ( CR Requests )
  • Meetings with personnel on a weekly basis
  • Maintain high standards of communication across all levels and departments internally and externally
  • All correspondence, discrepancy and exception reports must be checked in order to see if the work processed are correct
  • See to it that the scheduling of programs on the ICT schedule are done correct and in a timeously manner

Reports

  • Monthly spot checks OI, Loan interest, bonuses

Rendering customer services

  • Attend to escalated emails received from external sources e.g. branches and customers
  • Work on micheleaneous inquiries received
  • Handling of complaints, Hello Peter, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram feedback to be provided in a 48hour ratio for any uncertainties you should ask the Department Head
  • Checking if the personnel is maintaining the policies as stipulated in the rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 
  • Tertiary qualifications will be added advantage
  • 3 – 4 years experience in long term insurance
  • 1 year experience in a supervisor role
  • 3 years experience in client services

Senior Creditors Clerk

Description:

To establish and maintain financial management systems/procedures for AVBOB, by ensuring compliance with financial regulatory principles and requirements

  • To ensure that payments are created timeously according to Finance policy and procedures.
  • To ensure that the General ledger reconciliation for the Municipal account payments is performed on time and all outstanding reconciling items are cleared timeously.
  • To ensure that all municipal accounts are paid on time.
  • Develop a transparent communication system between all stakeholders to ensure a flowing financial management process.
  • To ensure that change of banking details on the system are authorised.
  • Normal adhoc requests and relieving colleagues of similar roles

Requirements:

  • Finance qualification
  • One year experience in finance department

Financial Associate (Makhado)

Description:

  • Marketing of Funeral Insurance, Savings Plans and related products
  • Recruit funerals for the Funeral Division

Requirements:

AVBOB, in partnership with INSETA, is hosting a Long Term Insurance Unemployed Learnership programme, NQF Level 4, 140 credits.
