ABSA: Stockbrocking and Portfolio Management Learnerships 2024

Responsibilities:

Market Analysis: Learn to analyze financial markets trends, and stay updated on economic indicators.

Trading Support: Assist in Back office Trade Support, monitor asset class trade lifecycle events & understand the financial transactions involved , collaborate with senior professionals to optimize internal processes.

Portfolio Management: Learn to provide client administrative support to Portfolio Managers enabling SPM to deliver excellent customer service to high net-worth clients

Client Relations : Gain exposure to client Relations & Client Interactions, I,E Understand the functions of the onboarding team involved in the 1st and 2nd tier checking, validation, control and reporting of all requirements in the Regulatory Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions process and procedures for all client relationships in accordance with regulatory requirements, policy guidelines, business rules and legal framework. Learning effective communication and relationship-building skills.

Risk Management: Understand and implement risk management strategies to safeguard investments and mitigate potential losses.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure all activities comply with relevant financial.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • South African Institute of Financial Markets (SAIFM) Certificate or equivalent to NQF level 5 (Preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for financial markets and eagerness to learn.

Training and Development: Benefit from a structured learning program that includes on-the-job training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to pursue relevant certifications.

Duration: The learnership program is designed to last 12 months and will provide a holistic understanding of stockbroking and portfolio management.
