Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • ABET qualification
  • No prior work experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic health and safety knowledge
  • Familiarity with basic machinery maintenance and operation of low-complexity machinery
  • Knowledge of hand tools and cleaning equipment
  • Ability to operate cleaning machines
  • Capability to perform routine maintenance tasks independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

As a Road Workers Aid, your duties will include:

  • Conducting serviceability inspections on all equipment
  • Ensuring maintenance and repair of runways, taxiways, and hardstands in line with Aviation Quality Standards
  • Sweeping and general cleaning of runways, taxiways, and hardstands
  • Maintaining a safe working environment with appropriate infrastructure for deeper maintenance on compass swing bays and engine running bays
  • Researching technology upgrades and assessing the feasibility of procuring new equipment
