Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- ABET qualification
- No prior work experience required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Basic health and safety knowledge
- Familiarity with basic machinery maintenance and operation of low-complexity machinery
- Knowledge of hand tools and cleaning equipment
- Ability to operate cleaning machines
- Capability to perform routine maintenance tasks independently or as part of a team
Responsibilities
As a Road Workers Aid, your duties will include:
- Conducting serviceability inspections on all equipment
- Ensuring maintenance and repair of runways, taxiways, and hardstands in line with Aviation Quality Standards
- Sweeping and general cleaning of runways, taxiways, and hardstands
- Maintaining a safe working environment with appropriate infrastructure for deeper maintenance on compass swing bays and engine running bays
- Researching technology upgrades and assessing the feasibility of procuring new equipment
