The Role: Job Summary
As a Bookkeeper at Unitrans, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records. Your primary focus will be processing and coding documents, managing intercompany recharge accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of sales invoices and creditor reconciliations.
This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives on routine excellence and enjoys maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Intercompany Creditors & Payments
- Generate accounts payable reports and perform detailed reconciliations against age analysis.
- Resolve supplier queries promptly and conduct necessary follow-ups.
- Manage the banking system to ensure all payments are loaded accurately.
- Distribute remittance advice and maintain organized filing of invoices and audit reports.
2. Intercompany Invoicing & Debtors
- Process authorized pro-forma invoices and generate accurate sales invoices.
- Ensure all supporting documentation is attached and sent to suppliers immediately.
- Manage the Debtors Age Analysis throughout the month and at month-end.
3. General Bookkeeping & Reconciliations
- Perform full monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Accurately record all financial transactions and maintain a robust audit trail of receipts and bills.
- Oversee the Purchase Order (PO) process, ensuring all expenses are authorized.
- Allocate central charges and facilitate internal/external audit processes.
4. Administration & Reporting
- Deliver on-time financial reporting to management.
- Perform monthly roll-overs of the General Ledger and sub-ledger.
- Distribute Intercompany Statements post-rollover.
Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this application, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Auditing (Diploma or Advanced Certificate minimum).
- Experience: Up to 5 years of experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role.
- Compliance: Deep understanding of legal and regulatory financial requirements.
- Skills: Proficiency in intercompany accounting, reconciliation, and financial administration systems.
