Food Service Aid Job Position
Requirements :
- NQF level 1 or 2 (Abet level 2 certificate or equivalent) OR Grade 09/10. Experience in the Public Sector hospital environment will be an added advantage. Ability to read and write. Basic knowledge of food and hygiene. Ability to work effectively in a team. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work shifts, weekend and public holidays. Ability to perform routine tasks and to work in a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties :
- To ensure that tasks in the Food Service Unit are executed with regards to provisioning of menu items for normal and special diets. Maintain quality control measures of all food provided. Keep stock and ensure maintenance and safe keeping of kitchen utensils and equipment. Apply hygiene and safety measures/standards in the Food Service Unit. Provide catering support services. Removal of garbage disposal. Prepare food, snack and beverages (water, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and cold drinks). Setup and convey crockery, cutlery and equipment to dining areas. Serve food and beverages. Responsible for food supplies and report waste and losses.
